Common questions about our Cork landscape design services
We are a design studio—we produce layout plans, planting schedules, and surface specifications. We work with trusted local contractors and can coordinate implementation, but construction and planting are quoted and managed separately.
Atlantic rainfall, mild winters, and occasional salt-laced winds near the harbour all influence our choices. We specify rain-aware levels, permeable gravel, raised beds for heavy clay, and plants that tolerate wet roots in winter.
For €140, a designer visits your plot for ninety minutes, assesses drainage, light, soil, and existing planting, then sends written notes with planting direction and surface recommendations. It is ideal before committing to a full redesign.
From initial site walk to final plan delivery typically takes four to six weeks, depending on plot complexity and revision rounds. Courtyard gravel gardens and hedge screen packages are often faster.
Yes—compact courtyards are a core part of our work. Our Courtyard Gravel Garden package (from €1,350) is designed specifically for Georgian terraces, mews, and sheltered city spaces with limited planting depth.
Many Cork city plots receive limited direct sun. We select shade-tolerant planting—ferns, hellebores, Japanese anemones, and structural evergreens—and position seating where afternoon light actually reaches.
We primarily serve Cork city and inner suburbs including Douglas, Blackrock, Montenotte, Sunday's Well, Ballinlough, and Mahon. See our Areas page for the full list.
Fill in the contact form or email [email protected] with your address and a brief description. We will recommend a site walk or full proposal within two working days.
We are happy to discuss your plot by phone or email before you commit to any package.
